Consul General met with Mr. Jeffrey Armstrong, Founder of the Vedic Academy of Science & Arts (VASA) and recipient of the Distinguished Indologist Award. They discussed preparations for the forthcoming International Day of Yoga, as well as initiatives for promoting and propagating Indian culture and heritage abroad. Mr. Armstrong’s four-decade-long contribution to the research and teaching of Indian studies internationally was also acknowledged and appreciated during the meeting.

Nearly 500 mid-sized GCCs employ 2.1 lakh professionals in India

More than 480 mid-sized Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India are employing over 2.1 lakh professionals, a report by software industry body Nasscom and management consulting firm Zinnov has said.  These mid-sized captive centres account for 27 percent of the total GCCs and 22 percent of all GCC units operating in India.
